The Multan Metrobus is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in the city of Multan in Pakistan.
The route is 18.5 km long, with a 12.5 km long elevated section. It has 21 bus stations, with 14 elevated and seven ground level stations. The stations were constructed with the city’s extreme weather conditions in mind.
The service is run by a private company and nearly 96,000 commuters use it every day. The capacity of each bus is 190 passengers.
According to official reports, the project costed at EUR 200 million.
For this project mageba delivered 730 LASTO-BLOCK elastomeric bearings of type B-CR with dimensions of 400x350x87 mm.
The consultant and the designer office had high demands in terms of quality of the installed products. As a result, CE label was required in addition to a third party quality inspection, that took place before delivery.
The working life of the installed bearings is 25 years, which coupled with mageba’s profound manufacturing experience made this project safe and successful.
