Structural bearings

Characteristics

  • Typical loads: 100 to 20,000 kN

  • Simple, light solution for low loads

  • Easy installation & low-maintenance

  • Damps vibrations

Principle

mageba LASTO-BLOCK elastomeric bearings act as elastic connections between structural elements. The elastomeric bearings transmit vertical and horizontal forces, without constraints, from the superstructure to the substructure, and permit movements in all directions and rotations about every axis. The structural bearings can be delivered with various steel connection plates, vulcanised into their upper and lower surfaces, to anchor them and prevent displacement. The bearings can also be equipped with special low-friction sliding surfaces.

Applications

LASTO-BLOCK elastomeric bearings are suitable for use in structures which require the transfer of low to medium loads. Equipped with a sliding surface the structural bearings can be particularly useful in providing temporary support during the moving of large loads and for the bridge deck incremental launch method.
