Primero de Mayo Bridge

Project description

The Primero de Mayo Pedestrian Bridge – or Puente Peatonal Primero de Mayo – is currently being constructed in the district of Primero de Mayo in the Peruvian capital of Lima.

It replaces an existing cable-stayed bridge which had deteriorated into a state of poor condition.

The replacement of the bridge became important as it provides an essential crossing of the River Rimac which flows through the city centre of Lima.

mageba scope

To support the bridge deck and accommodate its movements and rotations as designed, mageba supplied twelve RESTON-POT bearings.

Half of these pot-type bearings are designed to resist uplift forces of up to 107 kN, some with sliding movements of +/- 25 mm. The bearings were installed in December 2017.
