Eigenschaften

  • Designed to anchor monorail track beams

  • Consists of two spherical and two cylindrical bearings

  • The calotte parts are made of highly corrosion resistant ROBO-ALLOY

Principle

The RESTON-TORSION bearings consist of 2 spherical and 2 cylindrical bearings, with the different combinations of vertical load and torsion governing different parts of the assembly. In case of low torsional force, both of the main bearings (spherical) are loaded but the claw bearings (cylindrical) are not, whereas when high torsion forces act on the product only one of the main bearings is loaded along with the claw bearing on the opposite side.

Applications

The RESTON-TORSION is designed to support and safely anchor monorail track beams. These beams are typically precast, post-tensioned concrete girders, 20–25 meters in length, 2.0–2.5 meters in height and 650 to 850 mm in width. Eccentric passenger load, track bends and horizontal loads (wind, seismic) all lead to torsion (bending moment about the longitudinal axis) acting on the girder. This torsion must be resisted by the bearing assembly, whilst allowing for rotation and, for the guided type, movement.
