Qiansimen Bridge

Project description

The Chongqing Qiansimen Bridge starts from the Yuzhong district of Chongqing City and crosses the Jialing River. The bridge is connected with the north bridge deck of Dongshuimen Bridge and a highway-railway bi-purpose bridge formally opened to traffic in 2015.

The structure is characterised by a single pylon and single-cable plane resulting in a partially cable-stayed bridge. It divides into four sections of 88 + 312 + 240 + 80 m finally adding up to 720 m.

A notable feature is the design of the main pylon that shall represent a diamond-cut type.

mageba scope

In 2013, mageba installed eight TENSA-MODULAR expansion joints of type LR3 with a total length of 106.1 m. All of the joints feature well-proven wear parts that have been bolted in place and can be replaced if necessary with little effort and without disrupting traffic.

For the installation of the joint, only relatively small recesses are required in the bridge structure at each side.

Thanks to its asymmetric design, it can be easily adapted to suit specific circumstances.
