Project description
Pilatus Flugzeugwerke AG, which was founded in 1939, is the only Swiss company that has been developing, building and selling aircraft successfully all over the World.
The company in Stans has decided to expand and modernise its facility where the surface treatment of aircraft is carried out.
The building’s foundation, which was built by using reinforced concrete, has to be divided with an expansion joint on several locations, separating the workshop into two halls.
The most important requirements that the joint has to meet are high load capacity, accommodation of vertical and horizontal movements and long-term reliability.
mageba scope
In order to meet the projects needs mageba delivered a MIGUTRANS FS 255 expansion joint.
Due to the demanding requirements, such as the high resilience for solid plastic tyres and large horizontal joint movements in three directions, this joint was the perfect choice for the project. Additionally, thanks to its gap-free, symmetrical surface, this solid metal joint is maintenance-free.
