The modernization of the Budapest-Hatvan Railway Line started at the beginning of 2018. As part of the project, a 52 km-long railway track is being refurbished including 13 stations and the related infrastructure.
The 2x1-lane flyover, that also carries separate lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, was finished in 2021 and has a total length of 143 m.
The new flyover will reduce travel time as it has replaced an old railway crossing near the station, where traffic was often held up due to the busy railway, especially during rush hours.
mageba provided 8 LASTO-BLOCK bearings with maximum vertical load capacities of 7,000 kN to support the bridge deck.
In addition to the bearings, 2 TENSA-MODULAR LR2 expansion joints with 2 movements gaps were also designed and manufactured for both ends of the bridge. Each joint measures 15 m in length.
Furthermore, mageba was also responsible for supervising the installation of the products.
