Flexible Plug Expansion Joints for the Asian Games

Over 1,700 m of installed TENSA®POLYFLEX® Advanced plug joints leading smoothly to the main venue of the Games.

Hangzhou in China, is the host city for the next Asian Games. For the event the city has invested strongly in the required infrastructure.

As for the road infrastructure leading to the main Games venue, the Hangyong Expressway has been reconstructed as a two-level structure. This upgrade provides an efficient and comfortable road access to the Games venue from the city and its main airport.

Approximately 1,700 m of the top-of-the-range TENSA®POLYFLEX® Advanced plug expansion joints were installed in the project’s numerous viaduct and bridge structures, designed to accommodate superstructure movements of up to 160 mm.
