My Thuan II Bridge

Project description

The Mỹ Thuận II Bridge is currently being constructed to cross the Tien Giang River on the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam.

The construction of the structure, with its length of almost two kilometres, will be completed in 2023.
This structure is the latest in a series of major cable-stayed bridges in this small part of the Mekong Delta for which mageba has supplied key components.

The structure is located just 350 metres upstream from the original Mỹ Thuận Bridge, for which mageba supplied TENSA-MODULAR expansion joints in 2021.

mageba scope

mageba contributed to the construction of this bridge by providing 8 LASTO-BLOCK elastomeric bearings of type NBa5705 and 4 units of type VGa16240 to support the superstructure.

In addition to the elastomeric bearings, 4 RESTON-POT bearings of type TA11 were also produced, each designed to support loads of up to 15,405 kN.

Prior to delivery, an independent testing of the bearings was carried out in accordance with the project’s strict specifications.
