Orange Line – Lahore Metro

Project description

The Orange Line of Lahore Metro is the first metro line in Lahore city, Pakistan. Once completed, it will have 27 km of metro train facilities, with expected costs of $1.65 billion.

The corridor will be capable of accommodating two trains running both up and down the track, ferrying up to 30,000 passengers per hour and 250,000 passengers a day.

The capacity is planned to be increased up to 500,000 passengers a day by the year of 2025.

mageba scope

mageba is supplying a broad variety of RESTON-SPHERICAL bearings for the project.

The load capacity of the bearings varies between 1,800 kN and 2,900 kN with the largest bearing featuring a maximum longitudinal movement capacity of 100 mm.

Despite of the tight timetable mageba managed to deliver the high number of bearings (2,918 pieces) in due course. The bearings were shipped in about 50 deliveries using air and sea freight, which required enormous logistical efforts.

In order to meet with the highest quality standards the bearings were exposed to an intensive movement test in SismaLab (Italy) and were audited by TüV Austria.
