German joint approval

Having been awarded the first European Technical Assessment for single-gap (“nosing”) expansion joints in 2021, mageba continues to lead the industry with the first German “Regelprüfung” certification for single-gap joints without noise-reducing surfacing.

Due to their extraordinary robustness and their ability to accommodate the small movements (up to 100 mm) arising in most expansion joint applications, mageba’s TENSA®GRIP Type RS single-gap expansion joints have been widely used around the world for decades.

And thanks to recent European certifications, structural engineers can have even greater confidence in their quality and long-term performance. Having received the first European Technical Assessment (ETA) for single-gap expansion joints fully based on European guideline ETAG 032 in 2017 (ETA-17/0738), mageba went on to be one of the first companies in the world to be awarded an ETA (ETA 21/0738) for single gap expansion joints after the European assessment system was overhauled in 2020. A similar certification (ETA-22/0218) for the same type of expansion joint, featuring noise-reducing surfacing, was then granted in 2022.

German “Regelprüfung”

Another demanding certification challenge, however, is the German "Regelprüfung”. This type approval verifies compliance of the product with the stringent requirements of the German TL/TP FÜ regulation. Now that all requirements have been met for Regelprüfung certification of mageba’s single-gap joint of Type RS HP, based on the previously issued ETA, we are proud to again be leading the way with the first such certification for a nosing-type expansion joint without noise-reducing surfacing.

Yet another reason to have confidence in mageba’s range of single-gap expansion joints!
