The Tema Freezone Enclave is an international logistics park project with the aim to provide direct access to global transport networks hence enabling direct transshipment of large-volume goods for local, regional and global companies that operate in Ghana and beyond.
The development of the facility shall improve the distribution system and consequently company’s competitiveness in our globalised world market. Being Ghana’s largest seaport and major trading center, the city of Tema represents the perfect location for this vital infrastructure project.
The first phase of the park has been completed in 2015. When fully occupied, the enclave will feature 100,000 m2 of bonded and non-bonded warehouses with ancillary services.
With the construction of two new bridges for this enclave, mageba has been chosen as supplier for the required bearings and joints. A special condition is Africa’s tropical climate that makes great demands on the durability and characteristics of the crucial bridge components. mageba’s robust product design provides a variety of benefits for this specific case: The use of steel parts, for example, lead to outstanding and proven durability.
During 2016–2017, a total of 28 RESTON-POT bearings of types TF (fixed), TE (guided sliding) and TA (free sliding) as well as 4 TENSA-GRIP single gap joints of type RS will thus be designed and supplied by mageba experts.
