Project description

As part of the renovation of the Argentinian highway system in the region of Cordoba, the Provincial Route 34 between Falda del Cañete and Copina is being ugraded totaling in 16 km of new highway.

The project includes the construction of four viaducts with lengths ranging from 120 to 247 m and with the highest viaduct measuring 75 m facilitating the transport in central Argentina and allowing astonishing views of the area as well.

mageba scope

To support this project, mageba supplied eight expansion joints – one for each end of the four viaducts.

All of the installed TENSA-MODULAR expansion joints are 13 m long. Four of the joints are of type LR3 with three individual movement gaps designed for longitudinal movements of more than 220 mm and transverse movements of +/- 50 mm.

The other four joints, designed for longitudinal movements of 150 mm and transverse movements of +/- 50 mm are of type LR2.

In addition, mageba provided supervision for the installation of the joints.
