Guan Jiang Kou Bridge

Project description

The Guan Jiang Kou Bridge nearby Linhai, is a super large bridge that spans the Guan River at the boundary of Lianyungang and Yancheng.

The bridge covers a total length of 7’644 m with a main span of 400 m and a combined approach length of 3’610 m. Moreover, the structure is characterised as a double-pylon, double-plane, semi-floating, steel-concrete composite cable-stayed girder bridge with 167.5 m tall H-shaped bridge towers.

The project is of great importance to cement relations between Lianyungang and Yancheng and also promotes regional economic and social development.

mageba scope

In 2015, mageba manufactured four TENSA MODULAR expansion joints of type LR14, each with 14 individual gaps between surface beams and accommodating longitudinal deck movements of up to 1’120 mm.

Furthermore, these joints were also designed to facilitate larger movements for special load cases such as seismic events.

All parts of the joint are elastically pre-stressed making them highly resistant to fatigue.
