The Merah Putih Bridge (Indonesian: Jembatan Merah Putih) is a cable stayed bridge located in Ambon city, Maluku, Indonesia.

The bridge spans over the Ambon Bay on Ambon Island, connecting Rumah Tiga village (Poka) in Sirimau sub-district on the north side, with Hative Kecil/Galala village in Teluk Ambon sub-district on the south side.

This bridge is the longest one in the eastern region of Indonesia and an important landmark of the city.

mageba scope

mageba was chosen as the supplier of the structural bearings and the expansion joints installed to the bridge. The supplied products are all in compliance with the Indonesian Bridge Specifications and AASHTO.

In total, 8 units of RESTON-POT bearings and TENSA-MODULAR expansion joints with 40 m in lengths were supplied.

Each of the joints are of type LR4 and feature 4 gaps to accommodate 320 mm of movement.

The joints are connected with weldings to the bridge’s steel deck at one side, while on their other ends they are joined with concrete connections to the abutments.
