D3 Čadca Bukov-Svrčinovec

Project description

The D3 motorway, which is an important part of the pan-European transit system, connects the road network between the Czech Republic and Poland.

Approximately 18,700 vehicles drive through the D3 every day, from which about 5,000 are heavy trucks.

The new 5.6 km-long section of the D3, which includes the construction of 19 bridges in total, was built with the aim to direct the traffic away from the town of Čadca, which will greatly benefit the local community and the entire traffic system of north Slovakia in the long run.

mageba scope

mageba supplied 13 TENSA-FINGER RSFD cantilever finger joints in total for the following structures of the Čadca Bukov-Svrčinovec section:

- Bridge no. SO206 at the Podzávoz intersection
- Exit ramp of the SO207
- Bridge no. SO209 at Furmanec
- Bridge no. BO211-00

All joints feature a massive anchoring structure, a drainage gutter and noise reducing plates.

Beyond delivering these joints, mageba was also responsible for the installation of the products.

In addition, for the BO205 overpass 52 RESTON-POT bearings were supplied with maximum load capacities ranging from 1,000 kN to 16,400 kN.
