D1 Jánovce-Jablonov Stage II

Project description

The infrastructure construction project D1 Jánovce –Jablonov has been scheduled into two parts: Stage I with a project kick-off in 2011 and Stage II with the kick-off in 2012.
The Stage II motorway is made up of a total length of 9.5 km and includes 16 bridges that sum up to a total length of 2.6 km.

It lies on the so-called TEN-T Core Network Corridor that has the aim to remove bottlenecks, build missing cross-border connections and promote modal integration and interoperability.
The main benefit of this motorway section is the complete traffic bypass for the city Levoča. The first subsection opened on 20th October 2015.

mageba scope

mageba supplied and installed four items of TENSA-FINGER cantilever finger joints that are suitable for use in bridges with heavy traffic loading. The large drainage profile is mechanically clamped and replaceable.

Thanks to robust and solid design details and the lack of wearing parts, the joints are able to cover heavy traffic loads at high motorway speeds – without any loss of durability and service life.

The joints feature a maximum movement capacity of up to 400 mm.
