MFH Maturtweg

Project description

The multiple condominium in Maturtweg, Grabs, which was built in 2017, is located in a geologically challenging terrain.

Therefore the rear-anchored retaining wall had to be mounted with sliding bearings along its entire length, same as the foundation slab, which is concreted on the condominiums retaining wall, that had to be mounted in a sliding manner. As a result of the pressure exerted on the slope, it is exposed to permanent shifts that are to be expected over decades.

Due to the low weight of the apartment building and the foundation plate, the required minimum pressure could not be guaranteed. In order to prevent the bearings from moving over time, the sliding bearings had to be fixed to the concrete wall with a lower anchor plate. The sliding plate itself has head bolts that anchor the plate in the concrete slab.

mageba scope

These difficult static requirements could be resolved by using a 30 m long linear strip bearings called LASTO-STRIP XM at the base of the wall, and with four point plain sliding bearings of LASTO-FLONBLOCK GA-C featuring external steel plate on the masonry crown.

The long-lasting functionality of the point sliding bearings could be ensured by extra large 1000 mm long stainless steel sliding plates that were also used for linear strip bearings but of reduced size.

A cost-efficient and maintenance-friendly solution was designed as the punctual sliding bearings can be easily replaced at any time, even after decades of use.
