The Cao Lãnh Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Tiền River, a branch of the Mekong River at the city of Cao Lãnh in Vietnam, which was opened to traffic in 2018.
The total length of the bridge, including the approaching viaducts, is 2,010 m, with a central span measuring 350 m. It features 2 H-shaped towers, which have a height of 120 m each, and has a cast in-situ concrete girder superstructure with a double-plane of cables in a semi-fan type configuration. The bridge deck carries 4 traffic lanes in total.
The structure was built to help connecting people and markets in the Mekong Delta to the rest of Southeast Asia and beyond, meanwhile bringing new economic opportunities to areas that are isolated from the larger urban centres.
In 2017, mageba contributed to the construction of the Cao Lãnh Bridge by providing 47.6 m of TENSA-MODULAR expansion joints.
The 10-gap joints installed on both ends of the main structure are capable of accommodating movements of 880 mm.
The joints were produced at mageba's Shanghai production facility.
These type of joints have been already delivered to other bridges in the Mekong Delta beforehand, such as the Rach Mieu Bridge and the Can Tho Bridge.
